A NOTE FROM THE WEBMASTER

This site is produced and maintain by members of our UW Support Group, It is not sponsored or supported by the University of Washington. I wish to thank all who help financially, and by submitting pictures, information, etc. Thank you to all who donated at the April 2012 meeting to help offset the costs of web hosting. We have enough to pay for 2 years!

In a support group, members usually provide each other with various types of help for some kind of “shared” problem. This help often may take the form of personal experiences, sympathetic understanding, providing relevant information and establishing social networks. Many believe this is a crucial factor in coping with what may be life-altering circumstances.

The members of the UW Lung Transplant Support Group strive to be an important part of the lives of those awaiting transplant, those who have been transplanted and their families, friends and caregivers.

UW SUPPORT GROUPS

The Lung Transplant support group consists of an informal monthly meeting of people who have undergone lung transplantation or are being considered for transplantation, their caregivers and family members. Meetings are held on the SECOND TUESDAY of each month from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM in the Plaza Cafe Conference Rooms (first floor through the cafeteria area) at the University of Washington Medical Center. The discussions provide a good opportunity for people who are contemplating lung transplantation to ask questions of those who have gone through it and a good opportunity for the old-timers to tell their war stories. Primarily this is a social event and a chance to exchange information.

For more information regarding the UW Support Groups, please contact Angela Wagner, Lung Transplant Social Worker, at 206-598-2676.
